Electronic Throttle Body
Electronic Throttle Body
The throttle body replaced the carburetor as fuel injected engines gained popularity. Now the modern electronic throttle body is quickly replacing the mechanical throttle body. Most currently produced vehicles use a “drive-by-wire” system. As in, the throttle cable has been replaced by an electronic signal or wire that goes from the throttle pedal to the throttle body. This allows the ECU and the driver to both control the vehicle’s throttle. These advanced systems allow engineers to design better electronic systems that have far more control over fuel regulation under many different conditions. This leads to better traction control systems, higher fuel economy, lower emissions, better cruise control systems, and a smoother throttle response.
Don’t bother with remanufactured units when True Parts Incorporated is offering quality product brand new from our factory. We offer over 300 SKUs of our electronic throttle bodies. Each is made to precisely match the OEM version of the same part to ensure constant fuel economy and performance. TPI’s parts are produced in quality factories that are QSO/ISO certified. Each throttle body is carefully packaged with a silica bag to avoid oxidization and moisture.
Failure Mode:
Along with an illuminated check engine light, a vehicle with a faulty electronic throttle body could have slow or no throttle response at all.
