Anti-Lock Brake Sensor

Regular price $0.00

With the rise of traction control and stability control systems in modern vehicles, anti-lock brake sensors no longer give input to just the anti-lock brake system. ABS sensors are depended on to measure wheel speed and directional rotation for these systems. In most cases ABS sensors use a magnetic pulse that signals the ECU with a frequency that varies with the wheel speed. Data from each wheel sensor is combined in the ECU which is then used to control the ABS unit near the master cylinder.

With over 800 SKUs, our ABS sensors meet or exceed OEM specifications. TPI’s ABS sensors are all thoroughly tested against heat, cold, vibration and salt spray. TPI’s production facilities are QSO/ISO certified. Each sensor is carefully packaged with a silica bag to avoid moisture and oxidization

Failure Mode:

A failing ABS sensor can affect a vehicle’s anti-lock brake, electronic stability control, and traction control systems. Several ABS components can cause an illuminated ABS maintenance light including an ABS sensor. During routine maintenance, it’s best to inspect for a damaged or corroded sensor and replace before failure. Before replacing an ABS sensor, make sure to check the ABS sensor and tone ring for dirt or debris which may affect performance.
